BREWER

JOB SUMMARY: Duties of a Brewer/Cellarman at There Does Not Exist consist of day-to-day tasks of brewing, cellaring, and packaging. These tasks will include, but are not limited to; brewing, fermenter & brite tank CIP/Sani, brewhouse CIP, kegging, canning, beer transfers, dry hops, and cleaning. An assistant brewer should be able to follow SOP for tasks, take direction from the brewmaster/head brewer, be flexible, have a good attitude, and have a keen attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Brewing (wort production) & Brewhouse CIP (Clean In Place)
  • Packaging beer in all formats including, but not limited to, kegs, cans, bottles, & PET kegs
  • Cellaring, including but not limited to; beer transfers, filtering, tank CIP (Clean In Place), sanitization, dry hopping, general cleaning
  • Diligent record keeping and recordation of daily tasks
  • Performing all duties to the brewery SOP (Standard Operation Procedures)
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard free workspace
  • Accepting constructive feedback with a willingness to learn
  • Maintaining safety as a top priority

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 21+ years of age with a clean driving record and valid drivers license
  • Minimum 1 year working in a production brewery or high volume brewpub
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours/week) including occasional overtime
  • Ability to maintain and care for company property
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and take direction
  • Strong sense of self motivation, a good attitude, and an open mind
  • A creative approach to problem solving and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel and climb ladders/stairs
  • Ability to lift 55lbs, wrangle kegs (165lbs), load cases, and operate and hand truck like a boss
  • A love of craft beer and craft beer culture

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Minimum starting pay of $22/hr. Compensation depends on experience and fit.
  • Healthcare stipend of $100.00 per pay period (may be substituted for company health insurance when available)
  • Paid Time Off (Two weeks accrued vacation for the first 2 years of employment. Three weeks accrued after 3 years)

INTRODUCTORY PERIOD:  The first six months of continuous employment at There Does Not Exist is considered an introductory period. During this time, you will learn your responsibilities, get acquainted with fellow employees and determine whether or not you are happy with your job. During this time, your job performance and effectiveness will be closely monitored.

Completion of the introductory period does not entitle you to remain employed by There Does Not Exist for any definite period of time. Your status as an at-will employee does not change. The employment relationship may be terminated with or without cause and with or without advance notice, at any time by you or the Company.
